Wave 4 in Pics

Pictures of Wave 4 of the titanium series is starting to pop up. And from what I see, the AT-PT looks really good. We now have a green A-Wing, waiting for the inevitable orange coloured repaint ... duh!!! Another repaint is the light blue blockade runner from EP3.

But what caught my eye was from the Battlestar Galactica titanium series of this wave. Just look at the sleek black viper! Mannn ... I'm salivating already.

Titaniums in the horizon

I've been meaning to post a few stuff like finally buying my Tantive IV and another review and some other stuffs but just couldn't find the time. However, this I must post. Rumours are abound for wave 5. The list includes;

  1. Darth Vader TIE Fighter (white deco)
  2. Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter
  3. Trade Federation Battleship
  4. Yoda AT-RT
  5. Rouge Shadow Fighter

A quick run through of the list; a white Vader Tie Fighter. If it's really a Tie Fighter, we have it already but if it's a typo for Tie Advance fighter then I would say it's plain lazy, or crap or daylight robbery by Hasbro on its fans.

Kit Fisto's Jedifighter; hmmmm ... I would say it's a repaint of other EP1 jedifighter but if it comes with the hyperspace ring then it is a must buy.

This is an old mould from the Galoob micromachine series and I have one already.

Yoda on an AT-RT? I have already a clonetrooper on an AT-RT, so my best guess would be, they did a mould of Yoda (could be pathetically small) and stuck it on top of the AT-RT. It can go either way this vehicle.

Lastly, a rouge shadow fighter. A fast search in Wiki produce no result. Though there is a shadow droid from the comics? Another thing, is it rouge or rogue?? So this mystery ship is either a DEEP-RED shadow fighter or; an UNKNOWN/ILLEGAL shadow fighter?

Not exactly Star Wars ...

Nothing much on the Titanium series this week escept for this blurb on Batlestar Galactica.

Rebelscum: Thanks for producing the amazing Battlestar Galactica Titanium starships. Just wondering if you would ever consider producing an Ultra Battlestar Pegasus, the Blackbird Stealth Ship, the Cylon Heavy Raider, a Cylon Basestar, classic Battlestar Galactica or Cylon Base Ship, or any of the ships seen in the fleet?

Hasbro: Two of those (Classic Galactica and Cylon Heavy Raider) are in development for 2008. The Ultra will not come out, unless it becomes part of a future exclusive, because demand for the Ultra line was much softer than anticipated. The other two are probably not likely to happen due to the complexity of production for our price point.

Titanium Series Vehicles 2007, Wave 4

Entertainment Earth has announced Wave 4 of the 2007 series. Here it is;

  1. Obi-Wan Kenobi's Jedi Starfighter
  2. B-Wing Starfighter (Orange)
  3. All-Terrain Attack Pod (AT-AP)
  4. A-Wing Starfighter (Green)
  5. Tantive IV (Episode III Blockade Runner)

The first 2 vehicles comes from Wave 3. Making the wave with having 1 new mould, which is the AT-AP since the last 2 are basic repaints.

What's an AT-AP? I have no idea. Had to go the official site to get a picture of this walker.

It looks bad, doesn't it? A tripod walker on long legs. That's why it went out of commission by the time EP 4 came in. Duhhh!!

Sweet ULTRAs!

Well, TRU has just come out with pics of the vehicles of 2007. And they looked really good. Even the repainted ones. On the bad side, their release date has been pushed back to May 07. Oh well, I can wait.

The Ultras are Coming!

Finally, news on the unreleased set of 2 from the Ultra series. And hopefully more will be released albeit exclusively. And the news did not come out from the Toy Fair, now on in New York.

The SirSteveGuide site has announced that they were informed on entries in the TRU website pre-order listings of the last 2 unreleased set. They are;

What's the repercussion to me?
Well, I'm elated that there are more Ultras coming out. I'm ecstatic that they are TRU exclusives and not Walmart. Why? Well, we have TRU stores in Singapore but not the other. Thus, I do not have to count on only the specialty shops to bring them in.

Titanium Wave 3!!

Well, well, well ... just as I thought it would be a barren week for titanium news, this came up. EE had came up with the next wave for the year 2007. The new wave was a run-in on rumours by a SW website, and me, making comments about the list.

First up V-wing ... one word, very nice ... kay,kay that's 2 words.

2nd up, Plo Koon's Jedifighter ... repaint. However, since I have not got my hands on the first hyperspace ring jedifighter, I don't mind this repaint.

Next, is Obiwan's jedifighter ... duh ... straight repaint. But since I am into collecting the myriad coloured versions, I'm getting it.

Up next, the orange B-wing. Repaint and nice. Getting it.

Yet another repaint of the ARC-170. This one looks a bit faded, the green colour scheme is too light, thus the vehicle doesn't come to life. This one is a 50-50 to get.

And lastly, a ghastly repaint of the clone turbo tank. It's paint scheme purportedly to be for a snowy terrain ... double duh! Lazy, lazy, lazy ... just like the Imperial Attack Cruiser colour scheme. Another one of those vehicle designed to shove it down the consumer's throats by Hasbro's money making department.

All in all, except for the tank and the arc and maybe obi-wan's jedifighter, this wave is quite acceptable.

New pics of new titanium wave

Hasbro has published pictures of the 2007 wave . And as the previous entry, I was not totally impressed with the line-up. Here's why.

First up, the Firespray Interceptor or normally called the Slave1 starfighter class.

It's just a repaint of Jango's or Boba's ship. But a nice repaint though. I'm 50-50 on buying this piece when it eventually comes out.

Next up, is the Imperial Attack Cruiser.

This is not just a repaint, but it is a NO paint! Very nice of the Hasbro people to push this down our throats.

Then, there's Luke's snowspeeder. I was hoping it's the one that was flattened by the AT-AT. But wishful thinking.

It's just another bad repaint.

Last one was the savior of this wave. A brand new mould. It's Jabba's Sail Barge.

This one is a must buy.

The other 2 vehicles are from the BSG (Battlestar Galactica) line. If I can find them. I'll buy them. They looked good. A classic cylon raider and Pegasus.

New titaniums?

The rumour mongers at Rebelscum have this new list of Titaniums.

Titanium Series:
V-Wing Starfighter
Obi-Wan's Jedi Starfighter
B-Wing Starfighter
Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter

The V-wings mentioned here is a puzzle. Since I'm more EU-based, the V-wing that I know of is a vehicle that was produced around the time when World Devastators was wrecking havoc on the water planet of Mon Cal during Dark Empire 2 (comics).

However, there seemed to be another type of V-wing being flown around in EP3 Revenge of the Sith movie.I haven't seen them. But since the movies are MORE official than EU canon, then the v-wings must be these types.

There have been LEGO models of the said V-wing too so I think it's a given, don't you think? But I'll take the EU V-wing anytime.

The rest on the list could be a big disappointment because they are looking to be repaints. Even though Obiwan's and Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighters looks be the ones with hyperspace rings, hopefully, their colour schemes will look good enough for me to buy them.

2007 Titanium Wave 1!!

Updated!! : A few online shops have called this wave as the inaugural Wave 1 of 2007.

After weeks of newsless reporting on titaniums, some of the SW sites have announced Wave 16. And this one is all about new vehicles.

Of the 4, of course the Invisible Hand and the ATTE wins hands down. The dewback has a bad joined pieces which make the animal ... well, disjointed at the stomach and the tail. The Dagobah X-wing was another letdown. I would have expected extra lumps of metal to be the green slosh of the swamp but they just repainted those parts g
reen and brown... weak. But, I will still get it ... hehehehehe.

But the surprise vehicle, an addition because it was never shown or announced at the convention or anywhere else but now is the Royal Tie Interceptor. Coming from the devious and fertile minds of the Hasbro marketing team because this was never even an EU vehicle let alone part of the movie saga. And you know what, I've a feeling fans will clamour for this vehicle because the colour scheme really works. The marketing team really did their homework on this one. A repaint which everyone will like. Just take a look!

Titaniums ... totally new

Yes, you heard me. No repaints! All new moulds. This is the set I've been waiting for since the SDCC news came out last July.

Aren't they a beaut? But, will our retail be bringing them in the same time in December? Past waves has shown to be a letdown for SW fans. My bets are now with TFH or the other specialty toy store to bring them in. Sigh ....

More, more Titaniums announced

Wave 13 of the titanium series was announced a few days ago. As the previous wave ie 12, this set is also a repaint set. And as the previous wave, only 1 vehicle of the set of 4 is a must get for me. The rest are just dull repaints.

The 1st repaint is of the star destroyer. You see all the black ringed boxes ... they're supposed to be running lights ...Duhhh! The Xwing was repainted to be Wedge's fighter, the blue canopy is really out of place. Then we have a weathered? Jango's Slave 1. A few splotches of black ink, and Hasbro called it weathered ... sheezzz. The best of the lot, a CW paint scheme on the Arc-170. Nice!

I'm getting the deranged goose aka arc-170 clone war paint job. It is a great looking vehicle, doesn't it?

More Titaniums announced

I've lost count of what wave number this set will be. What's frustrating is that with the snail-like progress the retail sector is pushing the new titanium sets, I think I will only find these at the end of 2007!

But the silver lining is ... there's always a silver lining in everything, I might eventually get the elusive tie-bomber in retail, albeit it's the battle damaged tie-bomber.

Who cares! It's still a tie-bomber ... wooohooo!!!

And that Blue Naboo looks blue-tiful. I know that's a really bad pun. The battle-damaged snowspeeder looks awful. Lastly, a new paint scheme for the gunship. This one I'm still undecided whether to get it or bin it. We'll see later.

PS : I've found out which wave this is. It's wave 12.

New Titanium set announced

A new titanium wave has just been announced, but I'm not too crazy about these. Just look!

The swampspeeder is a repaint. The mud effects looks good but the camo on the clonetroopers looks very badly done. Yuckkks square.

I've got the blue tie fighter, so that's a done deal. The droid tri-fighter is supposedly to be a battle damaged repaint. But the laser score marks on the dark blue paint scheme just doesn't work.

The last one I might get. It's a repaint of the Y-wing in red. I've got the original yellow scheme.

SDCC Hasbro Titaniums (pt 5)

Now, back to our regular programming. This entry will focus on repaints of previously issued vehicles.

a: This is a repaint of the ARC-170. It follows the colour scheme of the Clone War gunship with the face of a fierce looking bird. But as I said, the paint looked really like a deranged goose. But I'ld still get it ... hahahahha!

b: In the tradition of Hasbro idiocracy, we now have a BLACK jedi starfighter. Guess who's ship this belongs to? Yup, Anakin Skywalker when he turned SITH. So now, Anakin has 3 starfighter under his belt, a yellow, green and black starfighter. Duhhh! He is the main character of the Star Wars saga.

c: Same reasons as above, Hasbro has thrown mud packs on all vehicles that were shown on planets with swamp/ground. Gentle beings, I give you a swampspeeder with mud.

d: Errr ... An Xwing with mud? From Dagobah, this one comes.

e: Since I couldn't view any close up of the paint scheme, I would say this is a BLACK gunship. Maybe Anakin used one somewhere?

SDCC Hasbro Titaniums (pt 4)

The last 3 NEW moulds of the Titanium series are as follows. The last ship shown on the right was from this year's stock, that is Jango Fett's Slave 1.

No. 11 : This is the the chicken-walker aka AT-ST. Seen twice in the SW 6-parter, mainly in TESB and ROTJ. This scheme is from the Battle of Endor.

No. 12 : Amidala's Naboo starskiff was used to transport her from Coruscant to Mustafar in ROTS.

No. 13 : All time favourite is the this CR90 corvette or better known as Tantive IV. It was as a rebel blockade runner in ANH. Previously, it was a consular ship used by Senator Bail Organa in the days of the Old Republic.
