Still nothing ...

I've scaled down my search for the titaniums to twice weekly now. Getting lazy and frustrated when there's nothing to be found. I've also started to use other means to get the missing sets.

I'm quietly tracking an entry in the yahoo auctions which could be a good buy for me. Just waiting the right moment to put in a bid or until when my patience eventually run out ... hahahaha.

On other lines, since trading titanium is no more a viable option, I've only got 2 of the 6 I wanted after advertising for 4 months. I've ordered some pieces online. First time doing this, I hope I don't get burn.

Now, in the stores, KOTOs are popping up. These are 1:7 scale figures which looks awesome when displayed. Alas, at $120 per piece, they are too expensive to collect. Oh well, I'll just admire them from afar.

Side tracked

Nothing much happening on the Star Wars front. I was recce'ing OG Albert today. Alas, still no Titanium wave 5. But on the shelves together with the Star Wars toys was titanium Transformers. The 1st wave of their series. I'm not into transformer or their toys, but I do still remember the tv series. It was entertaining at most.

I've seen photos of these series in the net but didn't want to start collecting them. In fact I didn't find the pictures of the titanium transformers appealing. But when I saw the Optimus Prime die cast in the flesh, I had to get it. It was that good. At least, the best looking of the 3. Hopefully, there'll be other in the series to be just as good.

Review : Clone Wars vol 8

In this paperback, lies and truth become so muddled, you wouldn't know who's right and who's wrong. The question of whether the ends justify the means is stamped across every page of this series.

The battle of Saleucami becomes the stage for this episode. Our dark jedi, Quinlan Vos, is now very far in the murky waters of the dark side. In his personal (obsession) hunt of finding the 2nd Sith, he tested the boundaries of the dark. And in the end, the true nature of Quinlan Vos is revealed. Sorry, no spoilers will be revealed.

I kind of like this series on Quinlan Vos. I would say, his life is more tragic than Anakin. The storyline was great, with twist and turns and revelations. I'll give it 5/5.

Transformer - Star Wars

Star Wars have different genres of toys, figures, vehicles, etc. Then there are the cross-genres like Star Wars Legos, Replicas. Now, they have Star WarsTransformers. You know what transformers are right? Those cars turning to robots. Dinosaurs turning to robots. Planes turning to robots. Now you get it. So in the true tradition of transforming robots, they have Star Wars vehicles turning to ... say it with me people ... ROBOTS.

So recently, after constant bugging by my son and a certain fascination with the vehicle, I purchased a Star Wars transformer for him.

Clone Wars Vol 8 in the bag

Bought Clone Wars vol 8 from Kino today. It's about the further adventures of my favourite EU character, Quinlan Vos. Can't wait to rip open the plastic and read it.

Toys to play with

In all these years, I've bought quite a sizable amount of Star Wars toys. Most to be collected and displayed whilst some to be played with ... by my children, of course. I usually buy vehicle sets and those "macho" figures like Darth Vader, Han Solo or Troopers for my son to play his imaginary battlefield using lego blocks and such. For my daughter, she would usually ask for the "feminine" figures like Queen Amidala, Princess Leia ... err ... C3P0 to play with. The mother i.e. my wife does not ask for anything Star Warsy if you're asking.

At times, I would join in their play session. So sometimes during my daughter's "playing house" session, we would have Vader having a tea party with the other figures. Well, what I can say is, it really is fun ... go figure.

Rundown of the English Tea Party Diorama. Vader has invited a clonetrooper and Mr Rabbit for tea and scones. C3P0 is the butler serving them. Darth Maul is at the 2nd story toilet running a shower. What could more fun that this!!

The Rule of 2

The official site has just came out with the cover of the new Darth Bane novel. Here it is.
Who is Darth Bane you asked? Well, Darth Bane was the only Sith survivor in an epic battle between the Sith and the Jedi 1000 years before A New Hope (EP4). He was the one that enforced the ideology of 1 master and 1 apprentice. Fundamental perhaps because a group of Sith would always lead to self-annihilation of the Sith since everyone is greedy to wrestle power from one another. He also enforced dormant secrecy - to wait for the right time to defeat the Jedi and rule the galaxy. This eventually leads to Palpatine aka Darth Sidious and Darth Vader.

I'll be waiting anxiously for this book. I hope the writer and his writing is good or else it will surely spoil a long awaited piece of Sith history.
