Rings are Right!

Better! Much better! Kingsmodel has sent me the replacement jedifighters with hyperspace ring that was mangled up previously. So now I can show you guys proudly the gaggle of hyperspace ringed jedifighters.

Nice aren't they?

After a detailed prognosis of how plastics get warped under constant pressure, they delivered the replacement order using a box. Previously, I got a powdered milk tin.

The rings are inside a larger plastic and held its shape by quaint cardboard cutouts of semicircular shape to prevent accidental warping. See what can happen if they put a bit of care in preparing the vehicles can accomplish.

And here's the wave 4 vehicles.

The AT-PT looks better up-close but the clonie on top looks really badly painted. And then the 2 repaints of the A-wing and the blockaderunner. Now I don't need to go out of my way to hunt for the wave 4 anymore.

I also bought the red y-wing fighter and finally I have the AT-AT Endor repaint.

Wave 3 docking

After a dormant state, my collection is growing exponentially. It's time now to announce to you guys that I've got the Titanium series wave 3. I bought these like 2 weeks ago from TFH. Good old Roy for bringing it in, cause waiting for retail would be a nightmare gone worst. Here's the booty (must be the pirates in me talking). See the v-wing ... niceeeee!

But the piece de resistance is this. The hyperspace ring vehicle, ... my first. This brings a tear in my eye.

I have not ravage the bubble pack yet ... trying to savour the delight a little bit longer ... hehehehe.

I'll give more news later on new vehicles that I will be getting from Yahoo! auction. Watch for it ... hahahaha

Transformers madness

Carrefour had at bargain bin sale for titaniums. I was alerted to it by another collector. So during lunchtime, I made my way there. And horror of horrors, it was not just the 3" titaniums that was on sale but the 6" figures too. And there were stacked up to my chin like a small hill. To think some collectors were hunting them high and low and Carrefour somehow hogged a sizable sum of it. And they couldn't make a sale ... hence this bargain bin bonanza.

I had a field day rummaging through the deep bin looking for stuff. Well, I had most of the SW vehicles, what I was looking for was to build up my collection of the Transformers die-cast collection ... they were on sale at $3.90 each, from a price of $14.90. That's a drop of $11, who would have known? Before, I bought those great looking ones, now I chose the average looking ones ... it's $3.90 okayyyy! It was too dirt cheap to let go. So I got these to complement what I already have.

Another shipment of Titaniums

I've just received my second delivery of titaniums. Since the emergence of the 2007 wave 1 at TFH and the mixture of waves at ST, I've decided that I will not wait anymore for the 2006 waves in retail. It just ain't gonna happen! My feelings are that if the retail scene does pick up, it will start with the 2007 waves onwards. So I'm not gonna bust a gut and tire myself out for the 2006 waves anymore.

Here's the next unveiling;

The package is smaller now. Well maybe because I've ordered lesser vehicles. But I still get a cylindrical container.

It's another tin but now of Enfamil milk powder. I sincerely hope this guy doesn't go around the dumpster collecting this ... to cut cost and all. Maybe, it's from his baby milk supply? Just to put a positive spin on this container issue ... hehehehe

As requested, he didn't put in the fruit wrappers ... thank God. I had the fan turned on just in case though.

Here's the loot; 1 from one of the 2006 waves and another 3 from the 2007 wave 1 & 2.

And 3 from the Battlestar series; Absolutely loved the classic cylon. The detailing is superb. Thinking of getting another piece? hmmm ...

Vader's Sith Fighter

Yeehaaa! I've got my hands on the Black pearl aka Vader's Sith Fighter.

It is all thanks to Jovan aka Celica_gen7. A fellow SW enthusiast and forummer. Thanks again dude! He has the jedifighter with the hyperspace ring too, but it was so nice (I can vouch to that) he couldn't bear to part away with it. Drats. Well, Jovan if you're reading this ... if for any reason you're thinking of getting rid of it, I'm right here waiting... hahahaha.

I can't wait to tear open the bubble this weekend and display it with the rest of my other Jedi Fighter vehicles.

The arrival of New Titaniums

Woo hoo ... I've received the package that I ordered/bidded from yahoo auctions. After waiting for good ratings to stick to the seller. I plucked enough b*lls (that's "bills" to those who think otherwise *wink*) to plonk down a hundred bucks for 10 loose titanium pieces.

Here's a pictorial run through of the UNVEILING.

The prized package, it feels heavy and cylindrical through the plastic bag.

My guess was right it was cylindrical wrapped in brown paper. My mind is thinking, "Man, these guys are good to provide a cardboard cylinder to protect my titanium vehicles.

Gahhh!!! Mr Quaker was smiling at me ... hahahaha. My kids and I had a good laugh at this. "Okay ... okay ... maybe this is to save cost. No prob, minor detail", I told myself.

After getting rid of the scotch tape that kept it airtight ... huhhhh? I opened up the tin and was accosted with the baddest aroma I had smelled the whole day. Phewww!!! What a great smell I found today. My kids stepped 3 strides backwards to get away from the pong. In my mind,'What the f*** (that's "fish" mind you)". Then I saw the fruit wrappers. Yes, you heard me right. The ones you get when you buy apples from the supermarket to protect the fruit from dents.

By now the stench has dissipated because I was in my living room, near an opened window. I started to pick away the wrappers and finally found what I've been looking for. Luckily my loose titaniums were wrapped in their own plastic packets. At least whatever that smelled didn't rubbed on to the vehicles. Duhhh!

Although there was 1 missing plastic piece and a wrong stand for one of the vehicle, I was quite satisfied. Well, they were loose pieces. Rejects from Hasbro’s QC. Here's the Perfect 10.

Including these 2 Battlestar Galactica pieces.

Galactica found!

On one of my infrequent visits across the Causeway, I found the Titanium series Battlestar Galactica mini.

I couldn't believe my luck! But I couldn't find the other 2 ships in this first wave, the Viper and the Cylon Raider. Drats!!! Oh well ... slowly these BSGs (Battlestar Galactica) series will be found and owned by me.

As of now, these are ones that has docked with me. 3 more to find, those 2 above and the Viper Classic.

New Titaniums

Man, I got quite worried that TFH had not informed me or missed me out completely of the arrival of the 4 loose titaniums that I had placed on reserved. A quick email yesterday night and Roy came back with a reply that they were in already. Yeeehah!!

And these are the spoils of the 2 weeks wait. NICE!!!

I liked the quality of the vehicles even though they were loose as in not vacuumed pack in a bubble pack. To me, they are nice enough to display the way I display them.

Of the lot, I really loved Anakin’s CW jedi fighter. Grevious' fighter looks great too. Now to find Leia on a speeder to complete the speeder bike vehicles.

Silver Wing Squadron

I was doing a bit of re-arranging of my Titaniums with the new additions which I have recently bought. You don't know how it feels, playing with these Star Wars toys. In the words of the immortal Ah Beng ... "Shiok man!"

I managed to create my silver wing squadron with the addition of Padme's Royal Starship. This complements the gold wing squadron which I completed sometime ago. Here's how they look in formation.

Sidetracked again ...

I was doing a recce recently, you know just to try my luck in finding the Ultra AT-AT at non-TRU retail shop when I chance upon mini titanium transformers. There's been a lot of hoo-haa in the forum about titanium figures (new wave I should say) hitting the retail market. No, no, ... I don't collect them. Just like to look at them. But, I've yet to see Optimus or Jetfire for that instance. Well, on pics their look scrumptous so I really wanted to see them in the box.

Back to the minis, I finally found the elusive Optimus Prime mini behind a stack of pegwarmers. Woo hooo! Of all the times I went to OGs, this Optimus is nowhere to be found.

This is the first version of Optimus. It's the war within version.

Now I've got all that I need of the mini titanium series of transformers. It's time to get a display case for them. All in all, I only bought 6 out of the 20 odd figures. The 6 good looking ones I would say.

Two more titaniums

I've got myself the deranged goose and the nablue. In Hasbro-speak, its the clone war arc170 and the repaint of the Naboo fighter in BLUE!

With the acquisition of these 2, my display arrangement for these fighters became a much simpler task. I just marry up the same coloured/paint scheme vehicles to each other.

Titanium Collection (part3)

The last tier showcase the old trilogy vehicles. Jango's and Boba's different coloured Slave 1s. For all the photos taken, there are still 1 display case at each side of the cabinet, but when I took those photos, they didn't come out well.

All in all, I still have several unopened bubble boxes and I haven't decided which configuration of display to put them in, OT or NT era, in movie sequence .... Well, maybe when I have the time between juggling family and work, I might do a big re-arrangement fiesta. Can't wait for that time to come... hahahaha.

Titanium Collection (part2)

The second level highlights the bad guys of the saga. Yes, I know the ultra arc170 is a good guy but since I have not yet opened my Darth Vader Tie Advance ... this scheme will stay like this until further notice.

Set your eyes on the cream coloured droid fighter. This came from the old galoob die cast series. I've modified it to stand like it did in Ep1.

Titanium Collection (part1)

I'm finally ready to "show off" my collection of Star Wars vehicles. The quality of the photos are a lot to be desired but what can you do to an amateur of a photographer that is me.

The first level/tier comprised the first 2 ultras to be released (an xwing and the gunship). This level I'm showcasing the different repaints of vehicles in the market. Some colour scheme works well, whilst others are/were never bought ... by me of course.

At last ,a Tie-Bomber ...

I'm giddy as a school boy. After a lot of near misses, haggling on overpriced market and a lot of patience, the tie-bomber has come home to roost.

All this is made possible by a fellow collector and SW forummer Tyderium who went out of his way and held on to the bomber for 2 weeks for me. Kudos to this good samaritan.

The best part about this story is, this tie-bomber yearns to come home to ME. In a very convulated way, I tried to haggle for this same bomber from another seller ... hmmmm ... way back in Mar 06. But we couldn't get to a deal and it went off. So 6 mths later, via Tyderium, the tie-bomber is now in my hands. If this is not Patience is Virtue kind of thing ... I do not know what is...hahaha

So as it is, all my titanium vehicles is up to date! Proud to say it. Whatever is missing are the ones recent in the market.

Woohoo!! A Tie-Bomber!!! Sunday off for everyone ...

Titanium Transformers

With the premature excitement of the 4 titanium vehicles that popped out 2 weeks ago and nothing else, my attention for titaniums was attracted to new waves of the Transformer series that came out last week. I was really looking forward to the new Optimus Prime, but he was no where to be found. Maybe a collector's favourite? But all of them gone?? I smelled scalpers and the stink they have left.

With Prime missing, I bought the other "better" looking transformer in the wave, Smokescreen.
